Bacron is a company that specializes in manufacturing products from aluminum extrusion profiles. For this project, my group and I facilitated an innovation trajectory to create new business for the company. To do this, an extensive analysis of the company was first done, to discover where opportunities lay. Based on this, various concepts were subsequently generated and selected during interactive co-creation sessions in collaboration with the company.
The project resulted in a product that makes it possible to adjust the height of an existing bed to a level that’s ergonomic to work at for homecare givers. This makes it possible for bed care patients to sleep in their own bed instead of a hospital bed, separated from their partner. Quantitative and qualitative results showed that this product could make people feel more human, and less patient.
