Vision based chair

For an assignment for the second year course called Shaping & Design, I had to design a ‘sitting object’ based on a vision.

My vision on sitting was in short as follows:
Sitting is a way of resting. However, lying down is a better way of resting. This means that, to get the best sitting experience, you’ll have to give the most support to the body as possible. This should be done by supporting every spot the body rests on while lying down. By assuring this, the user won’t have to flex any muscle to stay in a comfortable resting position.

Based on this vision I started sketching, came up with three concepts, and finally worked out the chair shown above.
